August 9th was a great night at The Astro with Return to Dust set to rock the crowd. I have to be honest, I was excited to see Return to Dust. I actually had just watched them a few days ago as the opener for Yungblud when he played in Council Bluffs. I was definitely excited about the chance to see them again.
Return to Dust are rising stars that seem to just be getting bigger and better each time I see them. If they can keep a Yungblud crowd on their feet and moving, that says a lot. Yungblud’s fans want to see Yungblud and not much else. But they had that crowd up and moving like they were the headliner. And on this night, it wasn’t much different. They have been touring pretty much non stop for the past 2 years. Which, in today’s world, that is the best way for a new band to be seen and heard. Hooking up with some big tours hasn’t hurt to give them even more exposure.
Return to Dust is made up of guitarist/vocalist Matty Bielawski, bassist/vocalist Graham Stanush, lead guitarist Sebastion Gonzalez, and drummer London Hudson. These have some of the key ingredients that you need to make it in the music business today. Talent, being the first and obvious one. These guys write great songs and are amazing musicians.
Second, they have an amazing work ethic. If you know anything the world today, it’s that nothing is owed you and have to work to get what you deserve. These guys understand that. And third, they are genuinely nice guys. They want to know the fans and take the time to talk and sign autographs with anyone that wants to.
I am excited to see what the future hold for these guys. They have only released on album and one EP up to this point. I’m already excited about the next one, whenever that may be. But for now, they are tearing the road with anyone that will let them. Check them out now and you can say I saw them before the explosion!
