Sevendust was up first at The Astro on their co-headlining tour with Theory of a Deadman. And if you’ve never seen them, you are missing one of the most intense bands there is out there touring right now. They don’t so much take the stage as they do attack it. They have a take no prisoners type of attitude each night. They also have one of the most loyal following of any band I have ever seen. They come out in force and they are loud.

Sevendust are singing each song at the top of their lungs and giving as much to the band as the band is giving them. It is really fun to watch. I have seen them few times now and each time I just have to sit back and appreciate who this band is, and what they mean to their fans. It’s something special to behold for sure.

Lead vocalist Lajon Witherspoon, is one of the best. Not just his voice, which is amazing, but with his enthusiasm and energy that he gives out. And while he seems larger than life on stage he is also very real to the crowd. I have seen him get emotional a few times during shows, it’s a very awesome thing to witness when it happens. It just shows that we are all humans living life the best we can. This night was no different in that respects, as he brought his family out on stage, specifically highlighting his oldest daughter who is about to start college. A genuine moment shared with the crowd. How can you not love these guys?

Sevendust is currently on tour supporting their latest album “One”. The first song they played off the new album was Is This Is The Real You. It went over really well, and made me a fan of the new song right away. It was my first time hearing it. The other highlights for me were the two set closers, Rumble Fish and Face to Face. Sevendust never disappoints. They always bring their A game. Fun to watch and listen to. If you have never seen them, shame on you.
