In the heat of the evening at the Stir Cove on July 26th, In This Moment took the stage for the Hell Hath No Fury Tour. And let me tell you, it was a hot one. That did not stop In This Moment from delivering a theatrical show. As the sun went down, the temp may have dropped a few degrees, but not much. That did not stop the band from giving all they had on stage. Frontwoman Maria Brink commanded the evening with cinematic presence—costume changes, choreographed Blood Girls, and looming visuals that blurred lines between concert and ritual.
The show opened with a tribute to the Ozzy Osbourne, who has recently passed. They played “Mama, I’m Coming Home” over the PA. A move that had the whole crowd singing in unison. Then In This Moment launched into “The Purge” and “SANCTIFY ME. Each song was dynamic and purposeful in the elaborate stage show. Next came “Heretic,” “Blood,” and “Sacrifice” showcased the band’s balance of pounding riffs and theatrical nuance. Amid interludes the energy never waned, leading into fan favorites “Sick Like Me,” “Sex Metal Barbie,” and the haunting NIN cover “Something I Can Never Have”.
Brink’s vocals remained razor‑sharp even through a high energy performance. The visual aspect of the In This Moment show cannot be underestimated. It was fun to watch as it unfolded in front of you. The crowd’s energy was pretty impressive for a night when the temp did not go below 90 and there were three opening acts that had them up and moving too. The mosh pit opened up at the sound of the first note. This was my first In This Moment Experience. I can’t imagine them sounding better than they did on this night. They are a band that is as good live as you will find.
As the evening progressed, the setlist intensified toward “Monster Jam,” “Big Bad Wolf,”“Adrenalize,” and closed with the anthemic “Whore.” Which was an obvious crowd favorite to end on. It got a little crazy. It was a great night, and I’m glad I got the chance to finally see In This Moment. If I have anything to say about it, it won’t be the last.
