Crobot had the unfortunate fate of sharing a date in Lincoln, Nebraska with the Cornhusker football team. And not just a home game, but one of the biggest home games of the season. The Bourbon Theater is located in downtown Lincoln which is very close to Memorial Stadium. So it was a buzz all around the area. Unfortunately, that was not great news for the bands playing that night. It was a bit too much to compete with.
If you did attend the show, you got everything you paid for and more. Crobot took the stage of The Bourbon Theatre by storm and gave it a full 110% throughout the set. The smaller crowd did not seem to deter the guys from giving all they had to the show. This was my second time being able to cover Crobot. The first time they were completely foreign to me, and I had no idea what to expect. This time I was completely ready to watch lead vocalist Brandon Yeagley tearing up the stage. The guy is non-stop motion throughout the set. He has quickly become one of my favorites to take photos of. And not only is he fun to take photos of, the guy can sing.
I think Crobot is one of the best kept secrets in rock and roll. Which is a shame, they have some great songs and put on an amazing show. One of the highlights for me was when they played their newly released single, “Gun to My Head”. It has become a staple of mine on Spotify. Crobot is from Pennsylvania, and has a pretty strong following on the east coast. I look for big things for them as they continue to tour. They have some great songs, they are very riff heavy. If you love the guitar, then you will love Crobot. They are currently on a co-headling tour with The Atomic Bitchwax. A great match for them as The Atomic Bitchwax is another riff heavy band. Catch this tour if you can! I’m glad I did, sorry Huskers.
