It was a cold night in Council Bluffs but that did not stop the rock and roll fiends from coming out and enjoying a rock and roll show. Ayron Jones kicked off the night with a killer set, and set the tone for the rest of the night where Them Dirty Roses and the Black Stone Cherry picked up where he left off. Ayron Jones is from Seattle, Washington. He is very eclectic with the music that he plays. Everything from grunge, rock, hip-hop, soul…and the list goes on.
But I know is this, Ayron Jones can play the guitar. And that is what keeps me coming back. He is one of the best kept secrets in music. He has a quite a following but for mainstream fans he’s just a little under the radar. I think that is criminal. He deserves to get a lot more attention and credit for his playing and song writing.
His set list was a little shorter because of being the opener on this night, but there were some great highlights. Filthy was a standout track and well as Blood in The Water, and the set closer Take Me Away. Aryon’s band is a three piece with Aryon doing all the guitars and vocals. On bass is Bob Lovelace, and drums Malachi Johnson on drums. Both are amazing musicians.
Mr. Lovelace is an entertainer through and through. That guy interacts with the crowd and moves all over the stage. He is worth the price of admission himself. And Ayron and him get going together it is magical. They have great chemistry on stage together, It makes for an amazing show for the audience. If you have not had the chance to catch Aryon Jones, you are definitely missing out. He is very talented. Check him out on Spotify or wherever you get your music. Worth the effort for sure.
