Tom Keifer returned to the Steelhouse in Omaha after playing there almost two years prior. They brought back L.A. Guns for a second round too. They also had Eddie Trunk along for the ride this time as a host. I was luck enough to get a chance to chat with Mr. Trunk for a few minutes. I was wearing my Kiss “Rock and Roll Over” t-shirt, which Trunk commented he liked because it was his favorite Kiss album. For the record, it’s mine too.

It was an electric night with a great crowd coming out to hear some classic 80’s anthems from two of the best from that era. Tom Keifer carrying the Cinderella band’s flag on since the band disbanded in 2000. He has released a couple of solo albums in that time, that are really good. But a majority of the setlist consists of the songs that made him famous while his time in Cinderella. Which, because of the era, and the look, they were thrown in the “hair metal” genre. But they were definitely more of a bluesy rock and roll band. Underrated as band and not getting the recognition they deserved as some amazing musicians.

Tom Keifer is an amazing guitar player and song writer. His vocals may be what most people think of when they think of him, but definitely an amazing guitar player. His vocals are still strong and his unique vocal stylings still get the crowd up and moving. It’s awesome to watch him up there performing the classics.

Of course his band is also full of top notch musicians. He has veteran guitarist Tony Higbee, Kory Myers on keyboards, Billy Mercer on bass, and Jared Pope on drums. And to round it off, Tom’s wife, Savannah and Tanya Davis singing back up. Altogether, an amazing group of musicians. The set list had a few of Tom’s solo hits, but largely Cinderella classics. The crowd was totally up and moving the whole night. Tom took his phone and made a video of the crowd. He posted it online and you can see look it up and see what a great night it was. Such a good show…check out this tour if you can. You will not be disappointed.
