Theory of a Deadman was the last of three bands to take the stage on August 9^th at The Astro in LaVista, Nebraska. First up was the up and comers, Return to Dust. And then the first half of the co-headlining tour, Sevendust. Which in my opinion, would be a tough band to follow.

But, Theory of a Deadman had no issues with that. They came out and got the crowd rolling right away launching in to Barricade, a song off of their soon to be released EP, Funeral Songs Part1. It was a great start to the set and even though it was a newer song, the crowd ate it up. Which is not always the case with veteran bands. They followed with a classic song, Lowlife. A definite crowd favorite. That was followed by another classic, Blow, from the 2014 album Savages. Lead vocalist Tyler Connolly, brought out a polaroid camera and took photos of the crowd while singing. Throwing the prints into the crowd as the camera spit them out.

It was a fun set to watch and like Sevendust, Theory of a Deadman also played a few covers throughout the night. My favorite cover they do, and it is one they have actually recorded and released, is Wicked Game by Chris Isaac. Tyler’s voice just works well with that song. A few other favorites for me from the setlist- Bitch Came Back, Not Meant to Be, and the set closer- Bad Girlfriend. Theory plain and simple, just a great rock and roll band that puts on a great rock and roll show. They are fun to watch and easy to sing along with. I have been able to see them a few times now and they have never disappointed. Like many veteran rock acts, they know how to work the crowd and keep people moving.

This is a great tour with three amazing bands. You definitely got your money’s worth when you buy a ticket for this show.
