You Wanted the Best. You Got the Best! The Greatest Band in the World! KISS!!
What can be said about KISS that has not been said in the last 40 years? Not much, but one word always comes to mind, AWESOME!! They are one of my all time favorite bands in history since I first saw them as a kid on “The Midnight Speical” in 1975.
Just as powerful and energetic as they were then, KISS showed no signs of slowing down in Lincoln that night. Pinnacle Bank Arena was on fire. Oddly, they started the show with a cover of “Rock & Roll” by Led Zepplin rather than their standard “Deuce” However, they rolled right into “Detroit Rock City” and “Duece” They played some of their standards throughout the night including; “I Love it Loud“, “God of Thunder“, and “Black Diamond.” Two older songs were noticeably absent in “Firehouse” and “Stutter.” Not to say the show sucked by any means. They just crushed the night and polished it off with “Rock & Roll All Nite” and “God Gave Rock & Roll to You” which is the expected song for their encore.
I have been a card carrying member of the KISS Army as long as I can remember.
Caleb Johnson, American Idol Winner from Season 13 in 2014 provided support on the first part of the “Freedom to Rock” tour.
