I had never been to a Hatebreed show before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But when the tour is called the “Summer Slaughter” there is a definite expectation of what you are getting your self into. Throw in opening acts like Face Yourself, The Last Ten Seconds of Your Life, Snuffed on Sight, and Devourment– you know things are going to be loud and crazy. Mosh pits, crowd surfing, and endless headbanging.

And for a while there I felt as though I was in the movie Roadhouse, the Patrick Swayze version. There were fights with people being taken to the street at a pretty good clip. There was an ambulance call at one point that that held the show up for a bit. Definitely made for an interesting evening.

With all this going on, there was no doubt who everyone was there to see. Hatebreed was the main event of the night. When they took the stage- it was an instant adrenaline rush for the venue. The Admiral was shaking from bottom to the top. Lead Vocalist Jamey Jasta sounded amazing and he definitely knows how to get the crowd going.

The rest of the band sounded amazing with unmatched energy. The guys brought their A game. There were 6 opening acts and they were all good, but Hatebreed was definitely worth the wait. One of my favorite parts of the night was when they threw the Ball of Death into the crowd. Not something you see very often for sure.

It’s a little embarrassing that they have been releasing music since 1999 and that this is the first time I have seen them live. I loved the show, the music, and the energy. It was worth the wait to see these guys. I recommend that you catch them if you can. You will not be disappointed. I hope it won’t be to long before I get the chance to see them again.
