Breaking Benjamin has put together maybe one of the best tours of the year. Kami Kahoe, Starset, and Chevelle- all on the bill. Each one of those acts stronger than the next and each have very strong fan bases. And than put Breaking Benjamin in as the headliner, and the Mid America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa was packed to near capacity.
It was a great night from start to finish. And judging from the crowd, they saved the best for last. And that’s not knocking any of the openers, they crowd ate each of them up. They got louder as the night wore on. But it was clear who the headliners were. Breaking Benjamin was there to assert some dominance. And that, they did.
They took the stage to the classic track, I Will Not Bow, and then launched into Until The End and Evil Angel. The stage was a multi-level video panel stage. So the guys were all over the place. And the video show was super impressive. It’s crazy to think that these guys have been recording and touring for over 25 years now. It doesn’t seem that long to me…I guess that what happens when you get older, time goes fast. But these guys have been as consistent as any band out there with the solid releases and touring they do. They do have a new single, Something Wicked, that made it into the setlist.
The crowd loved the new song and it fit nicely in with the classic tracks. It was fun just to watch the crowd and hear them sing. And like any band, each fan has their own favorites, and when you saw someone jumping up and down as they were hearing the opening notes to their own favorite, you can’t help but think that this is what it’s all about. Why bands like Breaking Benjamin continue to tour and record. The fans make all the difference. It was plain to see on this night. It was one of the biggest shows I’ve seen this year. Don’t miss out! Catch this tour if you can!
