It was a good night at The Astro Amphitheater in LaVista, although a hot one. Maybe the hottest show I have ever been to there. It didn’t stop fans of The Black Keys coming out in full force. I don’t know if the show was sold out, but if it wasn’t, it was certainly close. It was hottest and biggest crowd I have seen there this year. The Black Keys did not disappoint. They were everything and more of what I expected.

They are currently on the “Peaches and Kreme” tour for their latest album Peaches. The album came out in May and has received a favorable response from the fans. This was my first time getting to see The Black Keys live, I became a fan back in 2011 when the released the El Camino album and then also purchased the Turn Blue album in 2014. Those were my Black Keys peak days.

I have not followed real closely since then but have been aware of them consistently putting out top notch albums. Guitarist/Vocalist, Dan Auerbach has a great voice and a great stage presence. A subtle swagger that exudes confidence. Even when the temp is pushing 100 degrees. This guy is cool under pressure. The crowd was all in singing along to every song. Some definite die hard Black Keys fans in Omaha. They let their voices be heard all night.

Set list highlights for me included Fever, which has been a favorite of mine since it’s release, Lo/HI, Weight of Love, and the set closer Lonely Boy. Even with the heat, it was a great night. These guys made it easy to tolerate. It’s awesome to watch a veteran band performing at the top of their game. These guys are the real deal. Check this tour out if you get the chance! You will not be disappointed.
