It’s like, where do you even start with these guys?!? So much talent in one band…it’s hard to put into words. I’ll say this, it was one of my favorite nights at the Steelhouse in Omaha. First up was Tim Montana, followed by 90’s legends Filter, and then finished the night with one of my favorites- Alter Bridge.
Alter Bridge, in my opinion, one of the best touring bands out there right now. They make it all look easy, from consistently putting out great albums to performing the songs flawlessly each night. While each band member is fully established as a top performer with their instrument, they all also have a very humble presence on stage. And it is clear that they enjoy what they do, rarely is there not a smile on their faces as they are performing.
Lead vocalist/guitarist Myles Kennedy has to be one of the hardest working guys in music. Between his solo work, touring and recording with Slash, and his time with Alter Bridge, the guy is never sitting still. His voice is one of the best rock and roll voices of this generation. Next, Mark Tremonti comes in as consistent with the song writing and performing as anyone you will see. He’s a great guitarist and a solid vocalist too. He doesn’t get enough credit for that. Throw in Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums and you have one of the most successful super groups to ever exist.
Alter Bridge is currently on tour for their latest release, a self titled album. Which is their 8th studio release. It is full of great riffs and melodies, consistent with the previous seven albums. They are a show you don’t want to miss. Just your basic meat and potatoes rock and roll, strong vocals0 ripping guitars, strong bass and drums. Don’t miss these guys if you get the chance! Plus check out their new album, or any of them for that matter.
