I was not sure what to expect from Paleface Swiss, I was not familiar with them up until a few days before their show in Omaha on April 20^th. They were one of the openers for Lorna Shore at the Steelhouse. I can say that not only was I pleasantly surprised, they may have been my favorite set of the night. As now surprise, they are a Swiss band hailing from Zurich. They were formed in 2017. They have three full album releases but their latest is an EP released early this year titled “The Wilted”.

The band is made up of lead vocalist Marc “Zelli” Zellweger, guitarist Yannick Lehman, bassist Tommy Lee, and drummer Luigi Paraventi. These guys are loud, talented, and ruthless. When hit the stage with the opening track, I Am a Cursed One”, it changed the whole tone of the night. They had the crowd in a mosh pit frenzy from the start. And the crowd surfing was like a sea of non stop people hitting the pit. It was an awesome sight to see.

I was looking at their Spotify bio and it says “ The neutrality Switzerland is known for globally does not apply to Paleface Swiss. They came to destroy”. Simple, to the point, and true. I witnessed it first hand. Hard, fast, no mercy. Zelli was calling out audience members for not moving enough and at one point, had the whole audience sit on the floor, until he worked them up into a frenzy and then it looked a riot had started.

It was fun to watch and the music was amazing. The band sounded great and vocalist Zelli is one of the best. They mentioned they had played Omaha before,, to a much smaller crowd. If they keep this type of a show up they will continue to grow. It was one of my favorites so far this year. If you get a chance to see these guys, do it. Be prepared to have your ass kicked for 45 minutes. Well worth it.
