The electric atmosphere at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis was palpable as fans poured in for an unforgettable night headlined by Incubus. The evening kicked off with a performance by Paris Jackson. Her stripped-down set blended folk-pop vibes with raw emotion, instantly drawing the crowd into her world. Following her, Manchester Orchestra took the stage, delivering a powerful dose of indie rock energy, perfectly priming the audience for Incubus’ genre-defying headlining set.
Incubus took the stage as the headlining act, delivering a performance that solidified their status as one of rock’s most enduring acts. The band commanded the arena with a set that was both nostalgic and electrifying.
Kicking off with “Nice to Know You” from their 2001 album Morning View, Incubus set the tone with soaring riffs and Brandon Boyd’s unmistakable vocals, instantly igniting the crowd. The energy only escalated as they transitioned into a surprising rendition of Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” a bold cover that served perfectly into their track “Under My Umbrella.” This creative mashup was a highlight, blending Incubus’ signature sound with a pop classic.
The centerpiece of the night was a full performance of Morning View, played in its entirety to celebrate its enduring legacy. From the dreamy melodies of “Aqueous Transmission” to the anthemic drive of “Mexico,” each track was delivered with precision, transporting fans back to the early 2000s while proving the album’s timelessness. Mike Einziger’s intricate guitar work and Chris Kilmore’s atmospheric turntable effects created a sonic journey that resonated deeply with the St. Louis crowd.
Following the Morning View performance, Incubus kept the momentum going with a shorter set of their biggest hits from throughout the years. As expected, they closed their set with “Drive,” the iconic ballad that has defined their career. The audience was all together swaying and singing every word.
Incubus’ performance at Chaifetz Arena was a masterclass in balancing nostalgia with innovation, leaving fans reminded of why the band remains a cornerstone of modern rock. The night was a testament to the ability to connect with fans, making it a concert experience that will linger in St. Louis’ memory.
