Tim Montana is not an artist that I was familiar with until I saw his name on the list of artists for this show. He is currently the opener on the “The Tailgate Tour”. That is headlined by Staind and Seether. It also has Saint Asonia as another opener. I count myself lucky to be able to have seen and photograph Tim Montana. He is one of those artist that you can become an instant fan of as you witness the fire and passion he pours into each show.
He also makes it a personal affair by sharing his story about growing up in poverty, and the long slow climb to get where he is today. It was a story hard work, perseverance, and a little help from Mr. Charlie Sheen himself to help Tim Montana get to where he is today. How can not be a fan of someone who has shown what happens when you never give up? And guess what, the songs are amazing too.
He has a new single just released called ‘Savage” and has a full album coming in July. He has two other full length releases you can check out until the new one arrives. “Long Shots” released in 2021 and “American Thread” released in 2020. Both are great rock and roll records and “American Thread” has a cool collaboration with Kid Rock, “Cowboys on the Run”. I am a little embarrassed that it took me this long to discover Tim Montana, but rest assured he has already become part of my Spotify playlist and I look forward to hearing the new album this summer.
His touring band includes Jackson Moody on bass, Tommy Samulak on guitar, and Kyle Law on drums. If you get the chance to see these guys I recommend you do it. A no frills rock and roll band, with great songs, and tons of attitude and energy. All my favorite things rolled into one.
