Going to a Slipknot show is a lot like going to the circus. If that circus is rock and roll circus on steroids. This was my first Slipknot experience…and it was all that I thought it would be plus more. I was excited because they said we would be shooting from “the pit”, and I was looking forward to getting some close up shots of Corey Taylor and company. As we were being escorted out to shoot photos we were redirected from what is normally “the pit” , and told that the pit for tonight was in the crowd area around the stage. Can you say caught in a mosh? Literally.

But I will tell you this, simply put, Slipknot was amazing. Mosh pits, flying beers and all. It wasn’t my first choice to shoot from there but I definitely got a feel for what a Slipknot show was all about. It was hard to know where to focus my camera with so much going happening on stage. And while the stage show was top notch, the music was in no way overshadowed. They sounded amazing throughout the show. Slipknots faithful were in full force for the 2 hours show. As I said, this was my first Slipknot experience. I certainly hope it is not my last.
