Sleep Theory are a newer band that has been gaining a lot of traction over the past couple of years. They have some great songs, and as I have found out, they are a great live band. They play with lots of emotion and energy, giving all that they have. And for lead vocalist, Cullen Moore, I mean literally everything.

The Sleep Theory vocalist came on to the stage wearing a boot, obviously struggling with a significant foot injury. He struggled at times to move around the stage and even had a stool to rest on at times. But he also had an obvious cold he was struggling with too. Before they band took the stage I noticed some hot tea had been left out there for him. It did seem to help but he did have some coughing issues throughout the set. All that being said, he still sounded amazing and he still seemed to enjoy every second on stage.

The Sleep Theory vocalist even went above and beyond for a young fan who brought a sign with him saying that he skipped school to be there that night. Moore had me get the sign from the fan and he signed it, and made his way around the stage and had all the members sign it. Which normally wouldn’t be a big deal, but with his foot injury took some time to work out. The whole time he had a smile on his face.

The rest of Sleep Theory is made up of guitarist Daniel Pruitt, bassist Paolo Vergara, and drummer Ben Pruitt. Sleep Theory powered their way through a 9 song set that had the crowd up and going from the opening note. Highlights for me was Fallout, Hourglass, Gone or Staying, Stuck in My Head, and the set closer Another Way. I do realize that my highlights are more than half the set list. But that’s just how good they were this night and paired with the health struggles of Cullen Moore, it made it even more amazing to watch. Catch these guys if you can, they are a great live band and also check out their music where available. You won’t be sorry!
