Santana Live at CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska on April 9th, 2022
Santana’s tour manager walks by and says, “That’s three songs everyone! Thank you and have a good night!” It was?? Where did that time go?? I don’t want it back because it was 30 minutes well spent watching a legend work his craft. I could have shot the entire show without any regrets. Alas, the life of a concert photographer only allows three songs and no flash.
Santana had me at “Black Magic Woman” when I first heard his music as a kid. If you had told that kid that you would not only get to see some part of his show, but that you would be photographing him at work I would have said you were crazy. Yet, there I was, in front of one of the masters, with his instrument, jamming the shit out of it. The tone of his guitar is immediately recognizable and has been for decades (yea, I said it).
These three songs…fluid. It DID NOT feel like three freaking songs!! Santana is so smooth the way the whole band moves from one song to the next without a notice that it had happened. Did I mention there are other people in the band?? Yea, I counted ten and all of them mega talented as well.
Great three songs. Leave comments if you have seen an entire Santana set so I can be completely jealous of you!!
My three songs?
