This was my second chance at getting to cover Royale Lynn. The first time was last October in Omaha as the opener for Skillet and Seether. This time around she was opening for From Ashes to New and Asking Alexandria. This was a great match for her, as both those bands bring loud intensity to the stage. It was fun to watch Royale Lynn this time around, knowing what to expect. I believe last time I may have called her a “metal maniac”, and not much has changed. She has a unique voice that may lend it self to a more country vibe, but she sounds just as amazing singing the hard rock/metal songs she brings to the stage.

Royale Lynn has her first full album slated for release on June 27th. So far she has only released singles up to this point, four of those singles will be included on the full album, which will be titled Black Magic. On this night she had a seven song set, starting off with Sacrifice. The set also included her latest single Greed, and Death Wish. Which was great because it had a cameo from Asking Alexandria lead vocalist, Danny Worsnop. Royale would return the favor later in Asking Alexandria’s set and perform Into the Fire with them. Royale Lynn sounded amazing throughout the set and her band while being a bass player down from the last time I saw her, still sounded amazing.

I look forward to hearing her full album as the singles she’s released so far all have been very solid. It’s cool when you get to see younger artist grow and gain a following. I felt that she had grown as a performer since my last time seeing her, which really wasn’t that long ago. But when you spend a lot of time on the road you can’t help but get stronger through the experience. I have the new album pre-saved so I can catch it on Spotify when it comes out. I think you should do the same. I think there are big things ahead for Royale Lynn.
