It was a great night at Pinnacle Bank Arena. If you are a fan of shock rock-then it was definitely the place to be. Rob Zombie and his band showed up with vengeance. If you’ve never been to a Rob Zombie show before, it’s like you entered a horror movie. Between the aliens, devils, and fire- there was enough theatrics to keep crowd rolling throughout the set.

All special effects aside, to me, it’s always about the music. I like the special effects, they are fun and definitely add an element to the show. But they are just a backdrop for the music. And Rob Zombie and his band come right at you playing song after song that goes right for the throat.

It was my first time covering a Rob Zombie show. I had heard a lot about the spectacle, but seeing it first hand was way better. Rob has a lot of different titles. To name a few he’s a producer, filmmaker, actor….but to me he is first and foremost a singer/song writer. He incorporates his creative filmmaking into his shows.

On this night in Lincoln Rob seemed to think the Lincoln crowd was not giving their all. At one point he offered to make it an acoustic set…basically saying that if you want the best from us, we need the best from you. That definitely got the response he was looking for. Pinnacle Bank Arena got super loud and the mosh pit a little more intense.

The set list had all the songs you would want to hear, including some White Zombie favorites like Super-Charger Heaven, More Human Than Human, and Thunder Kiss ’65. Highlights for me was The Lords of Salem, Living Dead Girl, and the set closing Dragula.

A great night overall. Getting to see Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie back to back in one night is a rock and roll dream. This tour, Freaks on Parade, is about half done. It’s worth the effort to get to this show. If you can, don’t miss out!
