Nathaniel Rateliff played the Ryman in Nashville and although this venue has seen its share of lively shows, this one undoubtedly topped them all. Not only is Rateliff quite the showman, the entire 7-piece band, the Night Sweats, is energetic, entertaining, and thoroughly enjoyable to watch. The music is top quality folk/R&B that can be moving and make you move. You can tell that when this band plays together, they are having the time of their lives and that joy spreads to the audience as well. He breathes a whole new life into this genre of music in an outstanding way. My favorite song, “I Need Never Get Old” started the show, and his big hit, “S.O.B” basically wrapped up the set. This is a not-to-be-missed show! If you haven’t given this engaging band a listen yet, you should. – Christy Carrigg
