St.Louisans gathered for the final summer show at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater for Avenged Sevenfold. The first opener to take the stage was Kim Dracula, whose stage name is a direct reference from a song on the Deftones album, “Saturday Night Wrist.” From Hobart, Tasmania, he achieved fame in 2020 by releasing a heavier cover of “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga. It had positive feedback and grew extremely popular on the app TikTok.
Kim Dracula stormed the stage, all wearing deep purple devil masks that exactly matched Dracula’s hair. A church bell rang, being the intro to “A Gradual Decline In Morale.” It seemed that much of the audience wasn’t knowledgeable about his music yet. Nonetheless, the pit was getting into the songs in no time. Going into his song “Make Me Famous,” Dracula showed off his vocal talents, hitting low vocals, screams, as well as some fast rapping. He brought a chainsaw onto the stage during the instrumentals that the audience loved. Once his cover of Paparazzi began to play, everyone started to sing along and connect the dots of his popularity.
