Let me preface my experience with Jinjer. This is a show that I had been waiting to see since November 2020 before the shit hit the fan globally. I didn’t think it was going to happen, but then in early 2021 I was blessed with the news that they would be touring again and that it would be close to the office in Lincoln. I had to go!
They were on tour supporting their globally acclaimer record, Wallflowers, which entered both the US Billboard Top New Artist Albums chart and Canada’s Hard Music Albums chart at #1, in addition to landing at #2 on the US Current Hard Music Albums chart and scoring several other top positions.
Listening to Jinjer’s music for the better part of a year I knew what I was going to get from this show. But, I completely underestimated the true impact it would have on my soul.
Now, this is a powerhouse metal band from Ukraine and they gave this show quite the show. But, Tatiana Shmayluk did something that was quite a pleasant surprise. The first song started with this sweet angels beautiful melodic voice, mesmerizing. The song builds up and she maintains this voice, I am really thinking it will crescendo into an Amy Lee-ish style.
Nope. Not even in the ball park. Tatiana became this guttural, screaming beast!! But they were crisp and clean, I understood every word. Just f**king amazing!
This whole show was driven by: Roman Ibramkhalilov – Guitars Eugene Abdukhanov – Bass & Vlad Ulasevich – Drums
With the current situation in Ukraine, Jinjer has released new merch designs to help raise funds to support their country. 100% of proceeds earned from these T-Shirts will be distributed directly to charity organizations of JINJER‘s choosing and the band will update you on social media.
