It was great night in Lincoln getting to see Infected Rain. They are from Chișinău, Moldova. This is the first time back in the United States since 2021. I was lucky enough to catch them back then as the opening act for The Butcher Babies. This time around they were opening for Wednesday 13. Lead singer, Lena Scissorhands is as talented as she is beautiful. Her vocals are very dynamic she’s not afraid to show her range while on stage. She’s also great about getting the crowd involved and highly encourages what Lena calls “the circle, also known as a mosh pit.
Infected Rain last full length release, Ecdysis, came out in 2022. They have just recently released a new single, “Because I Let You”. They also had a couple of changes to the line-up since their last visit. They lost a guitar player and bass player but added bassist Alice Lane. Rounding out the rest of the line-up is Ivan Kristioglo on guitar and Eugene Voluta on drums. The latter two had visa issues at the beginning of the tour and it kept the band from playing a few shows. Since their arrival though it has been an all-out assault by Infected Rain each night.
They are a fun band to watch between Lena’s and Ivan’s long dred locks of hair constantly flying and lots of jumping and running, I was exhausted myself just watching. It was great to be able to see Infected Rain again. For bands that have to travel so far, I know it’s tougher to be able to tour. For a band like Infected Rain though, it’s important for them to get the exposure. I feel like they would be more popular here if they were able to tour a bit more and have people get to see them. They are definitely a band worth checking out. You should for sure check out the new video of the single “Because I Let You”, it’s pretty awesome.
