I first got to see Tim Montana a couple years ago as the opening act for a Seether and Staind tour. I became a quick fan of his that night. The music was dynamic and Tim Montana has a ton of energy on stage, which was super fun to watch and photograph. And if you are not a fan of the music, you can’t help but to be a fan of the man. He is an open book talking about his past and being raised in poverty, and the hard work that he put in to get to where he is now. It is inspiring to hear and to see the pure joy he gets from performing his songs in front of people.
Tim started as a country artist and then decided to shed that style and play something that he felt more at home with. Which is some straight on in your face rock and roll. I’ve listened to both versions of Tim Montana, and I can say I am definitely more partial to the rock and roll version. It seems way more authentic and for all intents and purposes, more fun.
If you want an idea of what I am talking about, you can listen to his newly released single, “Break Me Down”. It’s a great song and a perfect way to get to know who he is as an artist. The crowd at the Steelhouse was and up and moving the start of his set. A majority of the setlist was from his 2024 release “Savage”. And then a surprise ZZ Top cover of “Brown Sugar” that went over real well.
If you have not checked out Tim Montana yet, I highly recommend that you do. And if you can see him live, I would say he’s a “must see” artist. I have never talked to anyone who has seen him live and not walked away happy. And as I said earlier, if you don’t like the music, you can’t help but love the man. He’s as down to earth as they come. A man of the people for sure. He is the type of artist I love to support. Don’t miss the opportunity if you get the chance, you will not be disappointed.
