In my history of photographing artists bands and shows I have met a lot of people. The guys in Evandale as a group have been together working for a couple of months. But as a whole they have been in various projects since the 90’s. It is weird to have known these guys when they were just learning their craft and then see them today as talented adults now.

This list of guys reads like a who’s who of Omaha rock and roll, Chad Riche has played guitar for The Venculas and singer/songwriter for More Than a Memory and Against the Artificial. Bassist Cody Du and Drummer Ryan Lang have been the rhythm for Shatterproof and Illusions of Gaia. Ryan has also played with Dirtfedd. Cody is currently with Forever Endeavor. Eric Whitney has been with The Wreckage and Arson City. I just met EJ Petry the night of the show, but the vocals on this kid sound like a seasoned veteran. In my opinion, if Omaha has a supergroup, it would be Evandale.

I am sure if I missed anything in this list they will call me.

They have performed in a handful of shows at this time, and they have a few more lined up. On this night, they played The Bourbon Theater in Lincoln, Nebraska and what I witnessed was a solid performance. EJ’s vocals are an ideal fit for the sound Evandale is trying to achieve. I had only known Chad as a vocalist, but behind a guitar he is equally as talented. The rhythm trio of Eric, Cody and Ryan were solid and on point.

If I had one thing as a down it would be drummer placement. HEY GUYS! BRING RYAN CLOSER!!
